GUID.org History
GUID.org was started by Tom
Shields in his spare time, starting in
August 1998. The idea was to provide a useful service to the Internet
at large, while maintaining privacy protection for those who wish
it.
Items remaining to do at some point:
- Write GUID receivers as NSAPI and ISAPI plugins
- Do a better job of detecting cookie enabling in browsers
- Write web server plugins to add GUID query HTML code to pages
automatically
- Plan for geographic distribution of GUID.org, for high performance
